It’s not just under the floor, and it’s not just heating!
Myth 1: It’s not just heating.
Using energy efficient heat pumps, underfloor heating also cools rooms. It works in the opposite way to heating – by absorbing energy into the floor. Cooler in summer, warmer in winter. Find out more about surface cooling.
Myth 2: It’s not just under the floor.
It’s not just floors. We have installed in walls, like at the RSPCA centre in BathSomerset, for refurbishment projects to increase the heat output and ceilings for cooling in commercial buildings. If you need a surface to warm or cool a space, may it be floors, walls or ceilings, we can offer a bespoke solution.
Myth 3: It’s expensive.
A common misconception. Installation requires just one visit to install all the pipe and manifold whereas radiators need two, to fit pipes then to install. Underfloor heating also uses less connecting pipework which reduces cost.
Underfloor heating also requires a lower operating temperature, so it’s less expensive and more comfortable. It’s also better for the environment.
Myth 4: It’s not suitable for all buildings.
We can install to both residential and industrial buildings, old and new build. Warmafloor have undertaken several renovation projects, like Grosvenor Square in Mayfair. New builds offer a lot of design input, so we can create the perfect indoor environment – regardless of Britain’s notoriously changeable weather.
Myth 5: You can only use it downstairs.
In 30 years, we haven’t yet found one floor that can’t use Underfloor heating. Warmafloor has undertaken many project in high-rise developments, like the Olympic Glasshouse Gardens.
Myth 6: It can’t be used under carpet.
The greatest myth of all. Any floor covering is fine, but some have limitations, like a very thick shag pile. There are many underfloor heating specific underlay and carpets nowadays.
