Surface Cooling

A significant but often overlooked benefit of underfloor heating is that the same pipework system which provides heat during the winter months can also be used to cool buildings in the summer.

Official reports predict that the average national temperature could rise by as much as 8°C in the next century. So the ability to offset high ambient temperatures and solar gain by circulating cool, rather than warm water, during summer months makes surface heating and cooling an ideal complement to the UK’s variable climate.

Simply by circulating cool rather than warm water through the system, a floor can be cooled to offset solar gain and high ambient temperatures.
